Big productions take shape long before the audience sees the finished show. Bamboo Crew’s work on the Backstreet Boys project at Cardington Hangars, Bedfordshire, offered a striking view of the preparation involved.
These three photographs capture the setting, the scale of the build and the moment the lighting brings the production to life.
From outside, the towering hangar doors give little away. Inside, the view opens onto trucks, flight cases, access equipment and substantial production structures. Even within such an enormous space, the amount of equipment on the floor makes the scale of the operation clear.
Another photograph shows the lighting in action: white beams cutting through the space beneath rows of overhead fixtures, with blue and amber light transforming the hangar. It’s a glimpse of how the separate elements of a production come together.
Bamboo Crew was proud to contribute alongside the wider production team. Jobs of this scale depend on people listening to the brief, communicating clearly and working together as requirements develop.
